在水环泵中，辅助排气阀是一种特殊结构，一般采用橡皮球阀，它的作用是消除泵在运转过程中产生的过压缩与压缩不足的现象。这两种现象都会引起过多的功率消耗。因为水环泵没有直接的排气阀，而且排气压力始终是固定的，水环泵的压缩比决定于进气口的终止位置和排气口的起始位置，然而这两个位置是固定不变的，因而不适应吸入压力变化的需要。为了解决这个问题，一般在排气口下方设置橡皮球阀，以便当泵腔内过早达到排气压力时，球阀自动开启，气体排出，消除了过压缩现象。一般在设计水环泵时都以-吸入压力来确定压缩比，以此来确定排气口的起始位置，这样就解决了压缩不足的现象。

循环水真空泵的工作水与被压缩气体是一起排出的．因此水环需用新的冷水连续补充．以保持稳定的水环厚度和温度。水环除起“液体活塞”作用．还有散热(对缩压过程)密封(叶轮与配气板之间)冷却(轴封件)等作用。因此泵的工作转速(对应一定的水环厚度)实际工作水温和配气孔布置是几个主要影响因素．对抽气量、工作效率和压缩比(包括可达真空度)起决定性作用。the working water of the circulating water vacuum pump is discharged together with the compressed gas. therefore, the water ring needs to be continuously replenished with new cold water to maintain a stable thickness&temperature of the water ring. the water ring eliminates the function of liquid piston, as well as the function of cooling (sealing) between the impeller&the valve plate (cooling gland). therefore, the pump speed (corresponding to a certain thickness of the water ring) working temperature&distribution hole layout is the main influence factors. on the content, work efficiency&compression ratio (including to vacuum) play a decisive role.
